Public Safety Over Politics Atlanta Deserves Leadership That Puts Public Safety First
The recent efforts by the Atlanta City Council to restrict and monitor federal immigration agents within our city are deeply concerning. At a time when coordination between local and federal agencies is essential to maintaining public safety, we are instead witnessing unnecessary political interference in law enforcement operations.
Let me be clear: law enforcement at every level exists to protect the public not to serve political agendas. When local officials choose to obstruct or second-guess federal agents, they risk weakening the very systems that keep our communities safe and our infrastructure secure.
This issue is not theoretical to me it is personal and practical. On November 7, 2025, I provided City Council leadership with a comprehensive Emergency Action Plan outlining how Atlanta could maintain airport safety and operational continuity during a potential federal government shutdown. That plan addressed the real challenges facing essential federal workers, including TSA and FAA personnel men and women who continue to serve without pay during funding lapses to ensure our nation’s safety.
The reality is simple: these are the kinds of risks leaders must prepare for. Disruptions at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport would have far-reaching consequences not just for Atlanta, but for the entire region and national travel system. Yet instead of focusing on preparedness and resilience, we are seeing attention diverted toward politically motivated actions that do little to improve safety or stability.
This is not leadership.
Leadership means anticipating crises before they happen. It means supporting the professionals on the front lines. And most importantly, it means putting the safety and well-being of citizens above political narratives.
As a candidate for Georgia State Representative, District 59, I believe Atlanta and our state deserve better. We need leaders who will prioritize public safety, strengthen cooperation across all levels of government, and focus on real, actionable solutions.
The people of District 59 deserve representation grounded in responsibility, foresight, and results not distractions.
It’s time to refocus on what truly matters: protecting our communities, supporting those who serve, and leading with purpose.
