BACK THE BLUE!

There is nothing preventing the State of Georgia from doing more to stand with the men and women who protect our communities and it’s time we act on that responsibility.

Today, Georgia provides the Public Safety Memorial Grant, which offers important support to the children of officers killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. But that support does not go far enough to serve the families of our active and long-serving law enforcement officers.

If elected, I will fight to change that.

I will introduce legislation in Georgia The“Back the Blue” scholarship program to expand educational support for law enforcement families. This proposal will create a pathway for college scholarships for the children and spouses of law enforcement officers covering tuition, fees, and education-related costs after other aid is applied, and allowing use at public or private colleges, universities, and technical schools.

This is about more than policy it’s about strengthening recruitment, improving retention, and honoring the everyday sacrifice of those who serve.

We must move from simply honoring service after tragedy to actively investing in the families who stand behind our officers every day.

That is the commitment I will bring to the Georgia legislature.
